What is voluntary return?
Voluntary return is an option open to persons who have no legal status to remain in Ireland or those who have withdrawn their application for International Protection or had it refused.
Applicants may want to withdraw their asylum application and return to their home country for a variety of reasons, and voluntary return is a way for them to receive assistance from the State to do this.
Return counselling and support
We know that choosing to return is not easy, and we understand that applicants might have many questions and concerns.
