
Sending an email to the IPO
When contacting the IPO via [email protected] please use the following guidelines to format your correspondence.
To help the IPO answer you more quickly:
- Include your name and Personal Identity Number in the subject line
- Briefly outline your request in the subject line
- Clearly state your reason for sending in the body of the email
- Any images, videos or documents must be added as attachments to your email, not included in the body of the email
- The IPO cannot access cloud storage links, video links, social media links etc. (e.g. Google Drive, Youtube)
- Note: .heic files cannot be processed by the IPO’s systems
- If submitting GRAPHIC/EXPLICIT CONTENT, please insert warning in subject line and file name
- Only contact the IPO with queries or submissions that are relevant to your International Protection application

If you have lost your IPF1 form or TRC card, please attend your local Garda Station with proof of identity to report to this document lost/stolen.
To request a replacement, contact [email protected] with your Garda Pulse number, PID and current address.

The International Protection Office will issue a copy of your file to your legal representative prior to your Section 35 interview.
If a recommendation has been made OR as a decision has been reached by the Minister, it will not be copied by the file copying unit in the IPO.
